Employment Opportunity
This is a non-benefited position responsible for planning, organizing, hosting, and publicizing programs of the Library and various City-sponsored cultural arts programs. Works under the direction of a Library Division Manager, Librarian, or Associate Librarian. With a vision of informing and engaging the community, this individual will organize and update internal promotional materials in print formats and online, including social media. Provides assistance in program preparation, set up, and hosting. Experience with writing, editing, and social media products highly preferred. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
At least three years of college education in the arts, humanities, or communications with a practical working knowledge of event management. Strong writing, editing, communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to host events with audiences of all sizes. Experience with photography and camera equipment, including software preferred. Ability to resize images and update basic web content required. Proven ability to manage details and organize time and resources to meet deadlines. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Driven to provide superior customer service to staff and to the public. Spanish language skills preferred. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background investigation.
Pay and Benefits
$15.30 per hour
Schedule
15 hours per week. The schedule is flexible to accommodate a variety of scheduled programs. Daytime and evening hours will be required, along with Saturday shifts.
