Growing new car dealership in the Montgomery, AL market is seeking a driven Service Director with domestic dealership experience to lead their Service Department to the next level. We are looking for a long-term Service Director that loves to grow and build! The Service Department is underperforming with tremendous upside for a process driven Service Director who sees the big picture and knows how to lead the charge. The Service Director hired will have full support from upper management to do what is needed to get the job done. The successful candidate is someone that can take the reins of the service department and truly make it their own. The dealership has a large service facility and tons of opportunity to bring on more work. The dealer is also in the process of installing more lifts. It is important that the Service Director hired is a proactive manager that leads by example and fosters a positive work environment that is results oriented. Likewise, is is important that this person is a great team builder and strong at recruiting, training, and retaining their staff so that technicians are getting their certifications and their staff is encouraged to grow with the department. This is part of a very stable dealer group with a great reputation. Must be policy and procedure oriented. Experience at a high volume domestic dealership is a big plus. Must have a stable work history and verifiable references. Excellent long-term opportunity. Serious relocation candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, staffing, and training of service technicians.
  • Ensure that service department is meeting or exceeding company standards for customer service, quality of work, and efficiency.
  • Drive and inspire a positive culture that makes employees want to show up to work daily
  • Resolve service department problems and improve service methods to increase productivity and customer service
  • Ensure Service Advisors are performing proper walk arounds and upselling techniques on the service drive
  • Work well under pressure, be self-motivated, and have a drive to succeed
  • Maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and sales representatives
  • Work with Parts Manager and Dispatcher to ensure that all issues are addressed promptly
  • Monitor technician proficiency to ensure hours in the shop are achieving managements goals
  • Handle any customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability, including upselling of services and optimizing service department processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and department managers, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of efforts.
  • Work closely with the reconditioning manager to ensure used cars are frontline ready in accordance to company standards
  • Auditing work and customer service to ensure the company's high standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on the performance of the service department and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
Compensation:
  • Compensation in the $150,000 - $180,000 range with room for growth.
  • Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, etc.
